  • WHERE IS THE LANSDOWNE KENMARE LOCATED ?
    Our 234-year-old Townhouse Hotel is located in the beautiful Heritage town of Kenmare (Néidín), Co. Kerry, surrounded by mountains and lakes. Néidín is the Irish word for Kenmare and translates to Little Nest. A Little Nest was envisaged in 1790 when The Lansdowne first opened its door. The Lansdowne Kenmare has been part of the history of Kenmare since it was built as the town residence of William Petty Fitzmaurice in 1790, the 2nd Earl of Shelburne, and is one of the oldest landmarks in Kenmare. It now stands as a beacon welcoming guests to wander this quaint town's streets and explore the breathtaking scenery surrounding it.

    Check-in time is from 3:00pm and should you arrive early, luggage can be stored for your convenience.
  • WHAT TIME IS CHECK-OUT?
    Our Check-out time is until 12:00pm on the day of your departure.
  • CAN I REQUEST A LATE CHECK-OUT?
    Late check-out is based upon availability and is subject to additional charges.
  • HOW DO WE GET FROM THE AIRPORT TO THE HOTEL?
    The most convenient transport is by transfer which can be arranged on your behalf.
  • IS THERE A BUS NEARBY?
    There are bus routes within walking distance of the hotel and a train station and airport are available from Killarney, Co. Kerry.
  • HOW MANY FLOORS AND GUEST ROOMS DOES THE LANSDOWNE KENMARE HAVE?
    The Lansdowne Kenmare hosts 28 bedrooms from Little Nest to Superior Deluxe across 2 floors.
  • IS THERE WI-FI?
    We offer complimentary Wi-Fi in all areas of the hotel and public spaces.
  • HOW MANY GUESTS CAN A STANDARD ROOM ACCOMMODATE?
    Our standard ‘Little Nest’ - Small rooms accommodate to 2 people. Our Suites can accommodate up to 3 people which have sofa beds or by placing a rollaway bed in the room, subject to availability. There is a surcharge for an extra persons - please contact stay@lansdownekenmare.com .
  • DO YOU HAVE GUEST ROOMS WITH TWIN BEDS?
    We have a limited number of twin bedded rooms, please contact our Reservations Team on stay@lansdownekenmare.com
  • DO YOU HAVE ACCESSIBLE ROOMS AND FACILITIES?
    No unfortunately we do not have specially adapted rooms.
  • WHAT IS THE CANCELLATION POLICY?
    Our cancellation policy is 7 days prior to arrival.
  • DO I NEED A CREDIT CARD TO MAKE A HOTEL ROOM RESERVATION?
    The Lansdowne Kenmare requires a credit card for all bookings. This guarantees your booking until your arrival date. Your credit card will not be charged until you arrive at the hotel unless we specify prepayment or a deposit prior. Any prepayment, deposit and cancellation requirements will be displayed during the online confirmation process.
  • IS THE PAYMENT OF BOOKINGS SECURE AND HOW DO I KNOW?
    We follow the highest standards of security protocol and data protection policies. The Lansdowne Kenmare is fully PCI compliant.
  • DO YOU OFFER SPECIAL INSENTIVES FOR BOOKINGS?
    We have seasonal and special offers available on our website at all times and it is best to book direct with our hotel so that you receive the best rate.
  • DO YOU ALLOW SMOKING IN THE HOTEL?
    No, we are 100% non-smoking hotel. We do have a designated outdoor terrace area at the front of the hotel to accommodate guests who smoke. A deep cleaning fee will be charged to guests who are found to be in breach of our no smoking policy.
  • DO YOU HAVE PARKING FACILITIES?
    We have limited on-site car parking which is free for guests who book accommodation directly with us however parking is limited as we are a town centre hotel and parking is on a first come first serve basis and better received if arriving from our check in time at 3pm.
  • DOES THE LANSDOWNE KENMARE HAVE A RESTAURANT?
    Our award-winning Shelburne Street Restaurant serves an A la carte dinner each evening from 5pm with local produce and signature cocktails. We also host a A la carte breakfast in our An Nead (Little Nest) Café each morning. We also have a list of highly recommend restaurants in Kenmare.
  • ARE THE SURROUNDING AREAS OF THE HOTEL SAFE?
    We are a townhouse hotel based in the Heritage of Kenmare with a population of 2000 people, our location is central, pleasant and safe.
  • DO YOU OFFER A BABYSITTING SERVICE?
    Yes we will happily email you a list of trusted babysitters who you are responsible for booking and remunerating directly.
  • IS THE HOTEL RECEPTION 24 HOURS?
    Yes, our reception is manned 24 hours per day by. Please see telephone instructions in your room to contact the front desk 24 hours per day.
  • DO YOU OFFER IN ROOM DINING?
    Yes this can be arranged during Restaurant opening hours with full menus available.
  • DO YOU HAVE CONFERENCE AND BANQUETING FACILITIES?
    We do not offer in house conference and banqueting facilities however can host corporate and leisure groups by booking the conference element to our neighbours in The Carnegie Theatre. Please contact our Reservations team to discuss further stay@lansdownekenmare.com

  • WHAT ARE YOUR DINING OPENING TIMES?
    Our breakfast begins at 8am all year round. If you require earlier breakfast, this can be arranged, please contact our reservations team to discuss pricing and timings. Our restaurant is open 7 days per week in the season and 5 days out of season however our Front Office team will gladly help arrange dinner in our many beautiful eateries in Kenmare if required.
  • DO YOU HAVE INTERCONNECTING GUEST ROOMS?
    At present we do not facilitate interconnecting rooms however do plan to introduce them in the future.
  • DO YOUR BEDROOMS HAVE AIR CONDITIONING?
    At present due to our moderate climate in Ireland, our rooms do not have air conditioning however, much as the rest of the globe, we are seeing an increase in temperatures and are looking in to adding this facility in the future.
  • DOES YOUR HOTEL HAVE A LIFT?
    As we are a 234-year-old building, there is no lift on our premises. Our rooms are accessible by a short number of stairs. In the future, should be successfully expand the bedroom capacity within the hotel, we will at that point add a lift to the plans! If you have difficulty with steps, please mention this to our Reservations team who will locate you in a suitable bedroom.
